Yonsuetta Johnson is a native of Louisiana. She is a proud product of HISD and has 23 years of experience in education. During the span of her career, she has taught physical education and coached girls and boys sports. She gained additional experience at Al Bayan Bilingual School in Kuwait City, Kuwait, where she was a High School Counselor for one year. From there, she returned to HISD as a High School Counselor and PSAT/SAT Coordinator for Waltrip High School.
Ms. Johnson is a mother of one. She is enthusiastic about supporting students on academic and social-emotional levels. In addition to school counselor, she is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and remains active in the community through service.
Ms. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, with a focus on Education, and Master of Arts in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. Presently, she holds certifications in K-12 Physical Education and PK-12 School Counseling.
